Summary
Mauro Zonta (Pavia 1968-2017), a well-known scholar of Late Antiquity and Medieval philosophical texts, especially in their passages from Greek to Arabic, Hebrew and Latin, translator of philosophical books and manuscripts from Arabic and Judeo-Arabic into Italian with pioneering work, was professor of the History of Arabic and Jewish philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Sapienza University of Rome. The book collects biographical outlines, memories of his figure and activities, and contributions that colleagues and friends devote to him: the essays are dedicated to Jewish and Arabic philosophy with particular reference to the different languages which were their mediums of expression. A bibliography of his writings completes the volume.
